Bible translation and interpretation
Yesterday evening we listened to Joseph of Arimathea, Archangel Metatron and Archangel Azrael. Jill channelled them, just like the prophets in the Bible, thousands of years ago.
Here's an interesting analogy. Because we didn't tape this, I was writing yesterday, 12 hours later; with input from what Jill could remember. We jog our memories with each others remembrances. But it was only what we could remember from 12 hours (and at a later point; 16 hours) previous. There was at least 40% more conversation that took place, over about a 40 minute period.
Consider this. How quickly does your memory diminish over time. Consider you watched and listened to a favourite 'soap' channel, or interview programme; something with lots of conversation. Just think; we remember visuals more than we remember audio. We think in pictures, not in words. Try 'not' to think of a pink elephant with purple spots. The image will appear in your mind as a picture. It's easier to remember the words of a song, if you see them written down. It takes longer if you just listen.
Now you're going to tell your friends 'everything that happened, and was said in the programme you watched. How much will you remember, word-for-word, 12 hours later? How much will you remember a 'week' later? How much will your friends remember, when they pass the information on to other people? How much will the other people remember? Do you just suppose the really good bits will get embellished? Do you suppose that the vast majority of what was originally said, will be forgotten?
When spirit channelled people 2000 years ago. The channellers passed on what they could remember; to people who passed on what 'they' could remember from the channeller. Eventually someone recorded it in writing. Then someone translated it. And now people are trying to 'interpret' it, with their own opinions.
So just how much of the Bible is a true record of what was channelled?
Not a lot!
Here's what might have happened using a different analogy. One that you may of heard of before:
This is a story about a School Superintendent in America.
The School Superintendent met with his Assistant Superintendent and he gave him this information verbally:
"Next Thursday at 10.30am, Haley's comet will appear over this area. This is an event which only occurs only once every 75 years. Call the School Principals, and have them assemble their teachers and classes on the athletic field, and explain this phenomena to them. If it rains, cancel the day's activities and have the classes meet in the auditorium, to see a film about the comet."
That's what the Superintendent said to the Assistant Superintendent who was supposed to pass that message along, word-for-word to the School Principals.
Here's what the School Principals heard from the Assistant Superintendent.
"By order of the Superintendent of Schools, next Thursday at 10.30am, Haley's Comet will appear over your School athletic field. If it rains, cancel the days classes and report to the auditorium with your teachers and students, where you'll be shown films. A phenomenal event, which occurs only once every 75 years."
The School Principals were to pass that message along word-for-word to their teachers.
Here's what the teachers heard.
"By order of the phenomenal Superintendent of Schools, at 10.30am next Thursday, Haley's Comet will appear in your auditorium. In case of rain on the athletic field, the Superintendent will give another order. Something that occurs only once every 75 years."
The teachers had to pass the message on word-for-word to the students.
Here's what the student's heard.
Next Thursday at 10.30am, the Superintendent of schools will appear in our school auditorium with Haley's Comet. Something which occurs only once every 75 years. If it rains, the Superintendent of Schools will cancel the comet; and have us all meet on our phenomenal athletic field."
The students had to take the message home and give it to their parents. Many of us have been on the receiving end of a message, and wondered what the original message was meant to be, whether it came through children, or even adults sometimes.
Here's what the parents heard.
When it rains next Thursday at 10.30am. over the school athletic field, the phenomenal 75 year old Superintendent of Schools will cancel all classes, and will appear before the whole school, in the auditorium, accompanied by 'Bill Hailey and the Comets.'
Over 2 billion people worship from the Bible. Perhaps we could sell them all invisible clothes too. |
